S.T.A.R.S. Transportation

In recent surveys, seniors reported transportation as one of their greatest needs. Our S.T.A.R.S. (Seniors Transporting At-Risk Seniors) program addresses this pressing need for reliable transportation among our senior population.

Through S.T.A.R.S., a dedicated group of active seniors step up to become the driving force behind the well-being of their fellow seniors. They offer friendly transportation services, ensuring that those who can no longer drive or have limitations with public transportation can access essential resources and services with ease.

Our compassionate S.T.A.R.S. volunteers provide reliable transportation to medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other vital destinations that support the independence of at-risk seniors. By bridging the transportation gap, we empower seniors to maintain their autonomy and stay connected to the resources they need.

We recognize the invaluable contribution of our Senior Volunteers and prioritize their well-being. To ensure a safe and secure experience, we provide additional automobile liability insurance coverage to our dedicated volunteers.

Join our S.T.A.R.S. team today and become part of a compassionate community that makes a tangible difference in the lives of at-risk seniors. Your dedication to providing essential transportation services will bring peace of mind, foster independence, and create a stronger, more connected community for all.

Hours are flexible. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Ronda Parrish at (850) 245 5918 or parrishr@ecsbigbend.org.
